Chanel

To celebrate the occasion of CHANEL’s 2026 Métiers d’Art show, and the brand’s return to New York City, I created a custom newspaper, titled La Gazette, to run as a supplement to the Sunday New York Times. For the first time, we would tell the story of the artisans behind the collection, exposing the people behind the brand’s legendary savoir faire. Le Gazette made its debut on the CHANEL runway, and was replicated online as a digital hub with an additional video series captured inside the Métiers by New York filmmaker Joshua Charow.

Models walked the runway carrying and reading La Gazette.
The films profiled artisans working at le19M, Chanel’s craft center just north of Paris.
All of the content from La Gazette was published in a branded content hub online as well.

Embroidered garments are designed using paper plans before being painstakingly handmade by, sometimes three or four, craftspeople working in tandem.
Hundreds of thousands of copies were printed at The Times’s College Point printing plant, before being distributed nationally.
